chkpt_control
The chkpt_control parameter controls how the checkpointing
files are written to disk. On many filesystems, when several processors
attempt to simultaneously write to disk large checkpoint files, the write
preformance drops so significantly that the checkpointing process fails.
The chkpt_control parameter enables the user to follow a "round-robin"
scheme for writing output so that no more than 1 processor attempts to write
a checkpoint file at any given time.
- chkpt_period = 0 [default] all processors dump checkpoint files at the same time
- chkpt_period = 1 the processors take turns dumping checkpoint files
